Mystery Date #2

Last Sunday Brent and I actually had an entire day to spend together - no work, no appointments, no classes. I closed my laptop and managed to drag Brent away from his computer for an entire afternoon. This time it was my turn to plan an outing for us without telling Brent where we were going. It was so much fun teasing him for a couple days prior to the “mystery date” cause he couldn’t figure it out. The only hints I gave him were: we’ve done it several times before but never here, and we can do it no matter what the weather is like, it can be indoors or outdoors. It was Mini Golf!!! I found out about this great mini golf place - well its a huge fun center actually - about an hour away from us. They have an 18 hole outdoor course, plus 2 separate 18 hole indoor courses! Each one was themed, one was underwater themed, and the other was a jungle theme. They were both really well done. So we drive up to this place - it looks like a castle kind of - a total kiddie type place - and Brent is like “what is this place….” and I exclaim “We’re Here!!!” Lol!!! So funny. But we had a great time!! We played both the indoor courses - Brent won both rounds, but I got a hole in one on the last hole we played and I won a free pass for another round! So now we have to go back one day. We finished off our day at Dairy Queen on the way home and got blizzards - yum!!! Strawberry Cheesequake for me - I am so addicted to it.

Weekend Photo Shoot

Ok, how is it even possible that it’s June 20th today??? ALREADY??? Crazy!!

Brent and I (and the dogs of course) went to Victoria last weekend for a very quick - but fun - trip. I know I’ve only been living away from the island for a year and a half now, but it seems so different to me now when we go back. So odd cause I spent my ENTIRE life there until last year, and even now, we are only a ferry ride away. And it’s true, the lifestyle there is much more laid back then it is here in Vancouver. People always used to say that (when I used to live over there) and I scoffed at the thought thinking it was all the same. But it really IS more laid back!!! I see it now - LOL!!

It was Angus’s 4th birthday on June 16th - he was thrilled he got to spend it at my parents house (”in the country”) running and playing with his best friend Mitzy. Angus absolutely loves being at my parents house, he would gladly stay there full time I think. Zoey on the other hand is very attached to us (especially me lately), and where I know she loves to visit there, she worries the entire time that we are going to go home without her. Angus worries that when we leave we are going to drag him along with us. What a pair.

A couple of the daily visitors to my parents yard. My mum even feeds them numerous times a day. She buys them special food and everything, and she has named them all. There are about 8 different deer I think that visit each day. (While we were there one of the neighbors called to ask my mum if she has seen one of the large bucks, as she hadn’t seen him in her yard for a few days. Brent called this “the neighborhood deer watch” lol!) Oh, and yes we were that close to them. My mum is able to stand only a couple feet away from them now, they are really beginning to trust her.

So on Saturday Brent was taking photos for our friend Alicia who is a hairstylist and make up artist. She had a few “models” at her house and she was doing their hair and make up so Brent could take photos of them for her portfolio. I got to be one of her models! Hehe, yep me… She did an awesome job on everyone’s hairdo’s and make up.

Clear Album

Has anyone seen those new clear albums that Pageframes makes? I want one so bad!!! The only thing clear that I had lying around here was some badge holders so I created this little album real quick today before I had to leave for work. Sorry the pictures didn’t turn out that well. I will re-take them later when I have more time.

And the saga continues…

We found a lump on Tweak yesterday - on the side of his neck. Then we found the start of some under one of his front legs. :( Yep, that’s right, another sick piggie. I thought it ended with Wheezy but since Tweak was his cage mate for the past year, it must have transmitted to him. The vet did tell us it possibly could be contagious. I felt sick when I felt the lump just knowing what lies ahead. Tweak is on antibiotics and we are hoping they will help get rid of the infectious lumps. However, the diagnosis is not good. We have decided we are not going to put him through what Wheezy went through. Obviously once they start spreading it is extremely difficult to get rid of them. I just want to let Tweak live the rest of his days as happy as he can be with us giving him love and cuddles and lots of healthy treats. He is not allowed to have hay anymore as it is not good for his condition. Also, no mingling with the other 2 piggies, whom have both been checked and as of now have no lumps. He is getting lots of fresh veggies and fruit which he loves so he is very happy right now.

Speaking of fresh fruits and veggies, there is this fantastic market not far from us that is only open for the summer. I stopped by there yesterday and loaded up on tons of great stuff!! A lot of it is local too - I SO love this time of year when we can get all these yummy things. I got strawberries, cherries (which I used to hate until 2 years ago - I had no idea what I was missing - they are SO good!), corn on the cob, english peas, various lettaces, spinach, nectarines (one of my most favorite fruits ever!), and carrots. YUM!!!

Well this is a quick post today and no new mini albums to post yet but I am working on a couple new ones. I just don’t have a whole lot of time to work on them right now - working 3 jobs is wearing me out and I have deadlines to meet too - yikes! Only 36 days left until I can spill the beans and tell everyone about our big announcement!! July 15th is the day. I CAN’T wait!!!!

Really hoping I can get some sleep tonight, have to be up early again tomorrow for work. Oh I enrolled myself in a Boot Camp at the Gym and it starts on Tuesday - 6:00am, and also in an Amazing Race Fitness competition. You know, cause I just needed some more stuff to keep me occupied….Lol!

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

Flower Album Tutorial

I saw a similar album somewhere online one time, and I fell in love with it so I designed my own. It was fun to make and remarkably quite easy too! :)

Yet another album featuring my “kids”

The paper is all Cosmo Cricket: Storytime and Dutch Girl lines. Flowers are Prima. Other embellishments: chipboard hearts by Making Memories, ghost heart by Heidi Swapp

I did a tutorial on how to make this little album and it can be downloaded here and the template here

ETA: Angus is a Westie (West Highland White Terrier)  and Zoey is a Scottie (Scottish Terrier)

Furry Friends

I finally got 2 more albums done for an upcoming class at Precious Memories

These ones are done with some of my most favorite things to scrap about - pets! I designed these little accordion books so that they can be made for either a dog or a cat.

TGIF

We have some new DT and CT members at Scrap Galaxy! Wow, I am constantly amazed at the kind of talent there is out there - it was so hard to choose. Take a look at the teams
There are a few photos missing still but we should have them all up within the next day or two.

The weather today was gorgeous, unfortunately I had so much work to do on the back end of SG and the new, um, thing we are working on, I didn’t get to enjoy it much as I was inside working away on the computer the whole day. Finally Brent managed to drag me away. He told me to go get ready to go out but he wouldn’t tell me where we were going. A mystery date!! He drove us all the way to downtown Vancouver. It was a beautiful warm evening and we walked along Robson street, got gelato from my fave gelato place, and he even took me shopping to Lululemon, Aldo, and a couple other stores that I love! What a fabulous evening it was : )

Back to scrapbooking now: I finally got a picture of the last layout I did - all about 2006. I will take a better scan of it later as its hard to see the tiny page pebbles on it.  Click on it to make it bigger :)
